How To Get Motivated (Week 2)

With a new year comes New Year’s Resolutions. A big key to many New Year’s resolutions is motivation! Whether you want to be healthier or you want to pick up a hobby, I want to share with you some tips that will help you get motivated!

  1. Set goals! Do you want to work out more often? Or, create more art? Set small but attainable goals! Setting goals gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation.

  2. Break your goals up into chunks! Imagine looking at a huge, long to-do list? Almost instantly you may begin to get anxious about how to get through all of those objectives. It can be overwhelming when we look at the HUGE picture. Check out this link to learn more about how to chunk down your goals. https://daringtolivefully.com/chunk-down-goals

  3. Be open to getting support from family and friends! They can help motivate us and see things from a different perspective!

  4. Reward yourself (as long as it's not sickening, fattening or harmful). When we fail to reward ourselves for our accomplishments, we begin to feel deprived, which can self-sabotage our progress. A healthy example for rewarding yourself could be buying a new CD or book that has been on your wish list for a while. Or, if you’re a kinesthetic individual like myself, you could treat yourself to some essential oils or a bath bomb! Someone once told me that self-regard isn't selfish. I find that to be so true! Hard work deserves to be rewarded!
